This strike is caused in particular by an unrealistic wage increase proposal from the management. The first day of the collective agreement was 1st July 2012. At that date annual inflation rate was 8,87% and even this rate did not reflect the real increase of living costs due to government policies concerning inflation and wages. Although the labour costs have decreased, the management proposed a wage increase lower than this inflation rate and rejected the union BASIN-IS's proposal to balance the wage inequality.
